Which is better, publishing a paper in a paid journal or a free journal?

There is no concept of Paid journals or free journals!!

There are two types of journals

1. Open access journal(Author Pays) and

2. Subscription-based journals(Author need not pay)

Both types of journals have a similar impact and caries equal research values.

All top publishers have both Open access and Subscription-based journals. so both are fine.
