Abstract :

Food insecurity has been a global issue that has been affecting a large number of people across the globe. This study aims to determine the prevalence of food insecurity that disproportionately affects people and identify the demographics which are most affected, including age, their income levels, and the geographic location. We performed a survey for primary research which included 50 individuals, this research helped us analyze the social, economic, and environmental factors that are leading to food insecurity. Moreover the effectiveness in reducing food insecurity was critically evaluated through current policies and reforms made for this issue. The findings showcase significant correlations between the affordability of individuals, government schemes in their community as well as the basic awareness about the existence of food insecurity in today’s society. This study suggests policies and best practices to improve food access and security.
