Abstract :

Prosopis juliflora, commonly known as mesquite, has various potential medical uses, although it's primarily considered an invasive species in many regions. Some of its reported medical uses include some traditional healing practices, various parts of the Prosopis juliflora plant, such as the bark, leaves, and pods, have been used to treat ailments like diarrhea, skin conditions, and respiratory issues. Prosopis juliflora leaves, like many other plant leaves, contain various compounds, such as tannins and phenolic compounds, that may have some mild astringent and antibacterial properties. These compounds could potentially help protect a wound from infection and promote healing to some extent when applied topically our study aims to formulate and evaluate the herbal ointment against diabetic foot ulcer using Prosopis juliflora and analyzing its antimicrobial activity.
