Abstract :

This study explores the relationship between employee benefits and motivation at Mahindra & Mahindra, a leading multinational automotive and manufacturing company in India. In today’s competitive corporate environment, employee motivation is a critical factor that drives productivity, innovation, and organizational loyalty. The objective of this research is to assess how various employee benefits—monetary and non-monetary—impact motivation and job satisfaction at Mahindra & Mahindra. Data was collected through structured employee questionnaires and interviews with HR personnel across multiple departments. Secondary data was also sourced from company HR manuals, reports, and industry case studies. The findings reveal that comprehensive benefits such as performance-linked incentives, health insurance, retirement plans, skill development opportunities, and work-life balance initiatives significantly contribute to employee motivation. Employees expressed higher levels of engagement and commitment when they felt supported and valued by the organization. However, areas like timely promotions and personalized recognition were identified as needing improvement. The study concludes by recommending enhancements in benefit communication, feedback mechanisms, and personalized reward strategies to sustain high motivation levels. Strengthening these aspects can further improve retention and organizational performance at Mahindra & Mahindra.
