Abstract :
The Auto plant Seeder is an automated system designed to streamline the seed planting process by integrating conveyor belts, rollers, hoppers, and an infrared sensor for object detection. The system aims to improve efficiency, accuracy, and productivity in nursery-scale seed planting operations while minimizing manual labour. This research focuses on the design, development, and performance analysis of the Auto plant Seeder. The mechanical framework consists of a metal conveyor system that transports trays, The hopper-based seed dispensing system is optimized to handle various seed sizes with minimal error, reducing wastage and ensuring uniform distribution. The infrared sensor detects empty trays, enabling seamless operation and reducing downtime. Performance testing demonstrated a 150% increase in tray processing speed compared to manual methods, with an accuracy rate of 98% in seed placement. The system also showed 43% lower energy consumption, making it both cost-effective and sustainable. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) in SolidWorks validated the structural integrity of key components under operational stress. The Auto plant Seeder offers a scalable solution for commercial and small-scale nurseries, addressing common challenges in seed sowing through automation. Future enhancements may include AI-based seed distribution control and self-cleaning mechanisms to improve durability and efficiency further.
