Abstract :
Financial statement analysis is a vital tool for evaluating a company's financial performance, stability, and future prospects. This study focuses on the financial statement analysis of HDFC (Housing Development Finance Corporation), one of India's leading financial institutions, over a selected period. The objective is to assess the company’s profitability, liquidity, solvency, and operational efficiency through a detailed examination of its balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement. Key financial ratios such as the current ratio, debt-equity ratio, return on equity (ROE), net profit margin, and earnings per share (EPS) are employed to evaluate the financial health of HDFC. The analysis reveals that HDFC has maintained a strong capital structure, consistent profitability, and robust asset quality, which indicate its sound financial position and efficient management practices.
