Abstract :

Entrepreneurship in India is considered to be one of the main drives for economic development, innovation, as well as employment. In fact, the Government of India in its quest to the entrepreneurial development in the country has initiated several activities such as Startup India, Stand-Up India, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY), Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, and Skill India. These initiatives offer financial aid programs, business incubator, skill build-up, and regulation reforming among other support to enable the entrepreneurs probably in the MSME sector and the startup ecosystem. This research evaluates the contribution of the governmental initiatives to the enhancement of entrepreneurship, the increase of ease of doing businesses, as well as the creation of jobs. It also investigates the effect of the reformatory policies like the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) in easing the regulatory burden. Moreover, the article of digital developments whereby Digital India and Atal Innovation Mission have managed to motivate the youth to get involved in the manufacturing of digital products is critically considered. Although some steps in the right direction have been taken, certain barriers still stand in the way such as the bureaucracy's incompetence, the public’s unawareness, and the financial obstacles of startups. The survey showed that while ninety-point six percent of the participants knew about these government support programs, they still encountered issues (due to convoluted procedures) in the application process. Satisfactory intensity among users was inconsistent, thus showing some glitches in the implementation of the projects. This paper suggests simplifying application procedures, increasing financial literacy, public-private partnerships, and AI application in policy modification. Outreach programs have to be designed in a way that ensures they are inclusive enough for all the groups they target, women, rural entrepreneurs, and marginalized communities. If these logistical problems are attended to it will be a great deal to improve the effectiveness of these government programs in the country.
